From the North
- Leave the M1 at junction 30 (signposted Chesterfield, Newark), then at roundabout take the 1st exit onto the A616 (signposted Chesterfield, Worksop) Entering Barlborough
- At roundabout take the 4th exit onto the A619 (signposted Chesterfield)
- Continue forward onto Worksop Road - A619. Entering Mastin Moor
- Continue forward onto Lowgates - A619. Entering Staveley
- At Duke Street Roundabout take the 1st exit onto the A619 (signposted Chesterfield)
- At mini-roundabout continue forward
- At roundabout take the 1st exit onto Chesterfield Road - A619
- Continue forward onto Chesterfield Road - A619. Entering Brimington
- Forward (one-way)
- Bear right
- Turn left (signposted Chesterfield)
- Turn left onto Brimington Road - B6543 (signposted Tapton)
- Continue forward onto Brimington Road - B6543. Entering Chesterfield
- At roundabout take the 4th exit onto Brewery Street - B6543 (signposted Town Centre)
- Turn left onto Holywell Street - B6057 (one-way)
- Turn right (signposted Central Shopping)
- Continue forward onto Saltergate
- North East Derbyshire District Council Offices are on the right hand side of the road
From the South
- Leave the M1 at junction 29 (signposted Chesterfield), then at roundabout take the 2nd exit onto the A617 (signposted Chesterfield)
- Continue forward onto the A617. Entering Chesterfield
- At roundabout take the 2nd exit onto the A617 (signposted Town Centre, Bakewell A619, Buxton A6)
- At roundabout take the 2nd exit onto Lordsmill Street - B6543 (signposted Town Centre)
- Pass church (Crooked Spire) and bear left
- Forward into one-way system
- Bear left onto Saltergate - B6057
