If you think your bill is wrong

 
You may think that the bill we have sent you is wrong, for example:
 
  • you do not think that you are the person who should pay 
  • you think you should get a discount and we have not given it 
  • you think your property should be exempt from Council Tax
 
If so, please contact us to discuss this.
 
If you still disagree with our decision about your Council Tax you may be able to appeal against it, we will tell you how to appeal when we give you our decision.
 
If you do decide to appeal, please remember to keep your Council Tax payments up to date until your appeal is decided. If your appeal is successful, your bill will be adjusted and any overpayments will be refunded to you.
 
If you think the band we are using is wrong, you may be able to appeal to the Valuation Office. See our page on appealing against your banding.

You can visit us at our Saltergate office from 8.30am to 5.00pm Monday to Thursday, and 8.30am to 4.30pm on Fridays. You do not need to make an appointment as we operate a 'drop-in' system. However, if you prefer to make an appointment just give us a ring.
