Derbyshire Asbestos Support Team (DAST)
Aims
The aims of DAST are to support, advise and provide assistance to workers, former workers and their families, who have suffered ill-health, injury or become disabled from their work with asbestos.
Services
DAST services are free of charge.
DAST is is now a registered charity; Charity number 1119684.
DAST has been awarded the Legal Services Quality Mark
DAST provides help and support with
- Welfare benefit claims in conjunction with the Derbyshire Unemployed Workers Centres
- Civil compensation claims
- Government Compensation Schemes forms
DAST also:
- highlights the dangers of asbestos exposure, particularly to those in occupations still at risk
- campaigns to ensure those who have developed asbestos related diseases access justice
- holds regular meetings for people to meet others with the same disease
- is also a support for anyone who just needs to talk
Home visits can be arranged.
