CHART LSP - Local Say, Local Delivery
Community Representation
CHART LSP is keen to ensure that the views of the seldom heard and harder to reach groups across Chesterfield and North East Derbyshire area are known, including women, men, younger people, older people, disabled people, people from black and ethnic minority communities, religious communities, lesbian, gay and bisexual residents, and other communities represented in the area.
These representatives have a wealth of community and voluntary experience, which provides a valuable resource and input to CHART LSP. Their views, together with those of local communities, voluntary groups, businesses and other stakeholders enable us to identify where our activity should be focused, and involve them in our Flagship Project Delivery to ensure community priorities are met.
As well as encouraging local people and group representatives to attend their local Community Forum or Community Partnership to express opinion, influence decision makers and develop projects benefiting the community, we use information from the local Citizens Panels and other targeted consultation, as well as meetings with people from these communities and our own project evaluation to measure achievement of project outcomes.
Chesterfield Borough Community Forums
Chesterfield Borough has eight Community Forums, each comprising local ward councillor(s) and co-opted members of the public. A number of other agencies attend on a regular basis, including Derbyshire County Council, the Police and NHS Derbyshire County. The local community is encouraged to attend the meetings and participate fully in their debates and action planning.
Each Forum meets a minimum of six times a year on a weekday evening at an accessible venue within the community. For further information on Community Forums and their meeting dates, please visit Chesterfield Borough Council or telephone 01246 345345.
