Chesterfield & North East Derbyshire Sustainable Community Strategy

On Tuesday 16th June 2009 the third Sustainable Community Strategy covering the period 2009 - 2026 was launched in the Winding Wheel. As was the case with previous Community Strategies, it has been developed with and for all the communities that live and work in the area and it describes a vision for the safe, healthy, diverse and prosperous communities that we all want to see. The Strategy sets out the social, environmental and economic improvements that will help us to realise this vision.

The Strategy doesn't tackle everything that needs to be done – all of the partner organisations will continue to provide and improve the huge variety of services that are available already, and where appropriate, develop new ones. We are confident, however, that the plan deals with the highest priorities that will help deliver the most important improvements.

On 26th November 2010 CHART LSP reported on its Annual Review and launched a new operating structure to deliver the priorities of the Sustainable Community Strategy through its flagship approach.  This new approach will focus on the key priority areas and provide a more efficient and flexible way of working.

The Strategy is designed to take us forward for the next sixteen years. Over time, it is likely that priorities will change and communities will want to see different issues tackled. To make sure we stay on track, the Local Strategic Partnership (LSP) will continue to listen to and involve local people, regularly reviewing the plan and reporting progress through our project planning process.
