North East Derbyshire District Council has 53 councillors. Elections are held every four years, the most recent was held on 5 May 2011. The current political balance is:

From May 2011, the Council will adopt the new style Leader and Cabinet arrangements under the Local Government and Public Involvement in Health Act 2007. Find out more here.
NEDDC also approved the Corporate Plan covering years 2011-2015 in April this year. The document was developed in consultation with our communities and sets out the focus of work for this council. The document can be viewed by clicking on the 'Corporate Plan' attached to this page.
