BEST VALUE PERFORMANCE PLAN 2007/2008
Welcome to North East Derbyshire District Council’s Best Value Performance Plan (BVPP) for 2007/2008.
This is our Best Value Performance Plan for 2007/08. It includes details of what we have been doing over the last year and more importantly, what we intend to do in the next year. This is set in the context of our longer term plans.
The Government requires all councils to produce a Best Value Performance Plan. Our plan is reviewed by auditors to make sure that we have done everything we have said we will do.
We, the Council are responsible for preparing this plan. This includes the information and assessments set out within it, and the assumptions and estimates on which they are based. We are also responsible for making sure appropriate performance management and internal control systems are in place to monitor it.
How the BVPP is set out
- Section 1
Provides an introduction to the BVPP and an index of the contents.
- Section 2
Sets out a profile of the Council and the district.
- Section 3
Contains the Council’s Corporate Plan which takes a look at the future, and sets out the Council’s aims and priorities, identifying targets and the initiatives we will put in place to achieve those targets.
- Section 4
Sets out our approach to performance management, together with an analysis of performance against national indicators. Our Annual report can also be found in this section. - Section 5
Provides information on external inspection and review including the Annual Audit and Inspection Letter from the Audit Commission.
- Section 6
includes a summary of financial information. - Appendix A
Sets out how we are performing on national government performance indicators and what our targets are for the next three years.

As well as being available here, our plan is sent to all of our key partners, stakeholders and other interested parties. It will also be available for inspection at the Council offices, local libraries and colleges.
