Council Makes History with 'Excellent' Audit Commission Score
North East Derbyshire District Council has made local government history by becoming the first Council in England and Wales to make the impressive leap from a ‘Weak’ to an ‘Excellent’ performing authority.
The achievement was made public on 20th May 2008 by the Audit Commission, which rated us as ‘excellent’ following a Comprehensive Performance Assessment (CPA) inspection. At our last CPA inspection in 2004 we were judged to be ‘Weak’.

We hope the information will be of general interest – however, in particular we are keen to share our learning and knowledge with other organisations going through a similar process.
