My name is John Arthur Dargue (Jack) and I am a North East Derbyshire District Councillor representing Eckington North Ward.
I was an elected member between 1973-76 and was elected again in 1991, and represent the Labour Party.

A bit about me...
I have lived in the area since 1942. I married Kathleen, an Eckington girl in 1953 and we have 4 children, 9 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. A family we are proud of.
After 5 years in the Army, I started to work for British Rail, where I stayed for 34 years. I joined the N.U.R where I held local and national offices.
I am involved with the Eckington Development Co. We have built the Eckington Business Centre and we hope to develop the John Street/Gosber Street site in the next few months.

I am a member of the Cabinet, and support the portfolio for Building an Excellent Council (incuding delivering a healthier, safer, cleaner community, Agenda 21, ICT, E-Government, Asset Management, HR and Training, Leisure, Planning and Licensing).

My aim as a local councillor is to serve the residents of Eckington North and North East Derbyshire as a whole, but I can only do that if you let me know how I can help you.
