Welcome to my web page
My name is Carol Dorothy Huckerby and I am a North East Derbyshire District Councillor representing Barlow & Holmesfield Ward.
I was elected in 1998 and represent the Conservative Party.
I hope you find the information you need on my web page, but if not please contact me - my details are at the bottom of the page.
A bit about me...
I have been married since 1976 and have lived in Holmesfield since 1972. I have one grown up son who lives in Leeds, and is an architect and interior designer.
I have been a Holmesfield Parish Councillor since 1983, and enjoying another term of 4 years.
I was a School Govenor of Penny Acres Primary School and also a Foundation Govenor of Dronfield School.
As a District Councillor I have previously been involved in Housing Appeals and am still a member of the Licensing Committee.
I also attend Barlow Parish Council formerly each month.
Locally in Holmesfield I am involved in Holmesfield Relief in Need, Penny Acres Charity, Holmesfield Education Trust and Holmesfield Charities Trust and have been since 1995.
My hobbies and interests include gardening, flower arranging, Cricket and Rugby.
My aims for Holmesfield are: -
1. To make sure the old and elderly are not overlooked, and the needs of the infirm and disabled are addressed.
2. To lobby to speed up the letting of council houses in Barlow & Holmesfield. There is a great need for rented accomodation for people born in both villages who wish to remain here.
3. To support Neighbourhood Watch and other initatives to tackle crime and to liaise with the Police to tackle all aspects of social behaviour.
Council Groups and Committees
I am a member of the following:
Licensing Committee
Planning Committee
I am also a member of the Safer Homes and Neighbourhoods Scrutiny Committee.
How Can I Help?
My aim as a local councillor is to serve the residents of Barlow & Holmesfield and North East Derbyshire as a whole, but I can only do that if you let me know how I can help you.
You can contact me at home using the details below or complete the enquiry form to get in touch online.
