Welcome to my web page
My name is Peter Ramshaw and I am a North East Derbyshire District Councillor representing Ashover Ward.
I was elected in 2000 and represent the Conservative Party.
I hope you find the information you need on my web page, but if not please contact me - my details are at the bottom of the page.
A bit about me...
I worked for NCB (National Coal Board) on electrical, telephone & signalling systems. I then spent the bulk of my working life as a representative, first of all for F.Kenning & Sons Ltd.
working from Clay Cross. I then secured a position with a subsidiary of Castrol supplying materials to the construction industries, from there I was trained in the Epoxies, Special Sealants & Construction Chemicals covering areas such as Architects, Local authorities, public utilities, Army, Air force, Prisons, Water board etc.
A period of ill health forced me to reassess and I decided to work on electrical maintenance for which I was originally trained. I was the agent for Bert Parr the Independent Councillor for Ashover Ward for much of the time and it seemed natural that I should continue after his death and was subsequently elected in 2000.
Having lived in Ashover since 1963 I feel that I the area and most of its inhabitants very well. In addition to the duties already stated I attend The Neighbourhood Partnerships, Ashover PC, Ashover Social Car Scheme, Dicky Tickers Heart Support Group & Old Tupton Chapel Players on stage management & lighting.
