My name is Martin Thacker and I am a North East Derbyshire District Councillor representing Brampton & Walton Ward.
I was elected in 2007 and represent the Conservative Party.

A bit about me...
I am Walton born and bred and continue to live in Walton. I represented Walton on Chesterfield Borough Council for four years and am now proud to represent Brampton and Walton on N.E.D.D.C. I have been a member of the Conservative Party since 1983. Since 2007 I have served on Walton and Holymoorside Parish Council.
I am actively involved in the community including supporting charities such as Chesterfield and North East Derbyshire Deaf Society (I was awarded an M.B.E. for services to the deaf in the year 2000) and Scouting (including time as a leader of 3rd Brampton cub pack and taking on the role of District Commissioner for Peak).
I have taught in various local Primary schools and am Head teacher of a Primary School in North East Derbyshire.
