Elections and Electoral Registration
This section of the website deals with information about elections and registering to vote.
We organise all types of Elections, namely - Parliamentary, European Parliament, District, County and Parish. If a Referendum were to be held, we would organise that too.
Elections happen on a cycle, usually every four or five years. You will know when there is an Election coming up as there will be publicity in the media, political parties will be canvassing for support and the returning officer will publish statutory notices on notice boards within you parish and also at Council House.
Every member of your household who is on the Electoral Register and eligible to vote will receive a poll card in advance of the Election. Any person wanting to stand for election within the District can arrange for a meeting with the Electoral Officer to discuss the legal requirements and also to obtain personalised nomination forms.
