A Guide to Elections and Electoral Registration
Our Electoral Services team compiles the Register of Electors and organises elections within North East Derbyshire.
These include the election of parish councillors, local government councillors for the district of North East Derbyshire, local government division councillors for the county of Derbyshire, members of parliament and members of the European parliament as well as all referendums. Elections happen on a cycle, usually every four or five years.
An election took place on 5th May 2011, this was to elect your local district and parish councillors. There was also a referendum on the Alternative Vote System.

The 2011 Register of Electors has now been published and is available for you to check that your name is included. You can view the Register at Council House, Saltergate or contact us and we will check for you. Your name must be on the Register of Electors in order to vote at elections held in the North East Derbyshire District.
