A Guide to Elections and Electoral Registration
This section of the website deals with information about elections and registering to vote.
All elections held within NE Derbyshire are organised by us. If a Referendum were to be held, we would organise that too.
Elections happen on a cycle, usually every four or five years. You will know when there is an Election coming up as there will be publicity in the media, political parties will be canvassing for support and the returning officer will publish statutory notices on notice boards within your parish and also at Council House.
Every member of your household who is on the Electoral Register and eligible to vote will receive a poll card in advance of the Election. You can view the electoral register at our Saltergate office, unfortunately it is not yet available to view online.
