About North Wingfield Parish Council
North Wingfield is a large village located approximately 4½ miles south-east of Chesterfield on the main road between Heath and Clay Cross.
The village contains the former hamlets of Hepthorne Lane, Hillyfields, Highfields and Church Hill; the Hepthorne Lane area is still called by its name by locals. The River Rother flows through the village next to the Midland Main Line and the beautiful village church dominates the landscape for miles around. The 15th-century Blue Bell Inn was once the Chantry House.
North Wingfield Parish Council is responsible for a variety of functions including management of the Community Resource centre, skate park, Multi-use Games Area, play areas, sports pitches, youth shelters and the Evergreen Social Club.
