Stray Dogs
As a dog owner you must keep your dog under control at all times and not allow it to stray.
Your dog must wear a collar and identification tag with your name, address and telephone number, even if it is micro chipped, when out in a public place - or you could face a fine of up to £5000.
If we pick up a stray dog we will keep it safely in our kennels and do everything we can to contact the owners. Dogs will only be released when the owner pays the release and kennelling fees and any other costs we have incurred. If a dog isn't claimed after seven days we will attempt to re-home it.

If a dog is found and kennelled during normal office hours, the fees are as follows:
1st day - £34
2nd day - £43
3rd day - £52
4th day - £61
5th day - £70
6th day - £79
7th day - £88
The fees are higher for dogs found and kennelled outside office hours and are available on request.
Reporting a Stray Dog
We are working with Bolsover District Council to provide a round the clock response to stray dog problems.
If you have found a dog and you can contain it please report it and our Dog Wardens who will collect it during working hours DO NOT TRY AND CONTAIN A DANGEROUS DOG!

Please bear in mind though that online forms will only be dealt with during office hours.
