Controlling Industrial Emissions
We regulate industry to control emissions and ensure that it does not pollute the environment.
Some types of industry and manufacturing may be likely to cause pollution, and we work alongside the Environment Agency to control and regulate this.
The most polluting types of business are know as 'Part A Installations' and are regulated by the Environment Agency.
The Council controls emissions from some of the less polluting industries which are known as 'Part B Installations'. We issue Environmental Permits to these types of business and check them regularly to make sure that they are not polluting the environment.
