Noise at Work Regulations 2005
In April 2006, new regulations came in to force regarding noise levels in the workplace. These new noise regulations require employers to carry out a risk assessment when noise at work is liable to be at or above 80 decibels (dB’s). If the noise is at or above 85 dB’s then measures need to be taken to reduce exposure to as low a level as reasonably possible.
For more information you can download the Noise at Work leaflet from the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) website or call them on 0845 345 0055 for advice.
