Food Safety and Advice
The Food Safety Team is responsible for the enforcement of Food Safety and Hygiene Legislation. Food Safety and Hygiene includes inspection of food premises, investigation of food poisoning incidences, investigation of food related complaints, and the sampling of food products.
Food Safety needs to be managed properly to make sure that food served in commercial premises is safe to eat.
Effective food management involves:
- Thinking about the food preparation arrangements.
- Putting procedures in place to stop things going wrong.
- Making sure regular checks are made to make sure that procedures are being followed.
- Keeping up to date records of procedures such as safety checks.
