Gas Servicing Scheme
Residents are being offered a helping hand to make sure their gas appliances are safe - and cut their fuel bills and carbon footprint with the extension of a successful gas servicing scheme.
The North Derbyshire Home Improvement Agency (HIA) is now offering free gas fire and boiler servicing to eligible residents across the area.
Launched as a pilot in Chesterfield and North East Derbyshire, the scheme found one in eight properties tested to have an unsafe gas appliance - all of which were repaired or replaced.
The initiative has now been rolled out to cover the whole of North East Derbyshire and Chesterfield - and households on benefits are urged to find out if they are eligible. If you would like to find out more about benefits which could make you eligible for this scheme please visit the Benefits page.
Having gas appliances regularly serviced helps to keep them running efficiently, saving on fuel bills, as well as providing peace of mind that appliances are safe.
The scheme is open to those in receipt of benefits, and provides servicing for all gas heating appliances, as well as carbon monoxide alarms where needed.
To find out more, or for information about gas safety or the other services offered by the North Derbyshire Home Improvement Agency please see their web pages.
