Re-Using Household Items - Charities & Voluntary Groups

Charity Begins At Home...

One Man's trash is another man's treasure...

Why not consider giving it away to one of the Charities or Voluntary Groups who have branches or collection points in our region who may be able to reuse many of your old household items:

• Age Concern - Bric-a-brac, linen, books, clothes, shoes, toys. No electrical items or small furniture.

• Alzheimer’s Society - Any jewellery-old, broken, odd pieces.

• Ashgate Hospice Furniture Store - Furniture, curtains and household textiles, clothing, jewellery and books in any condition, CD's, computers and electrical items in good condition only.  No white goods (fridges, freezers, cookers etc)

• British Heart Foundation - Bric-a-brac, linen, books, clothes, shoes, toys. No electrical items or small furniture.

• RSPCA - Good quality clothing, accessories and Bric-a-brac 

• Save the Children - Will accept most items except electrical and white goods, baby equipment, toys without CE mark, bikes, helmets, pillows, duvets and knives.

• Sheffield Dog Rescue - Blankets, towels, books, bric-a-brac. Do not leave items outside the shop!

• St Vincent de Paul Society - soft furnishings with fire labels attached, furniture, bric-a-brac, crockery, small electricals, bedding and clothing.

• Third Piper Community Arts - cameras & digital imaging equipment.

• Tools For Self Reliance - hand tools for carpenters, mechanics & blacksmiths which they refurbish and send to village development groups in Africa. 

• Unit 10 - Advice centre for teenagers and young adults.

• YMCA Derbyshire - furniture, beds and small electricals. A collection service may be available for large items.
