Building Control - Dangerous Structures
If you are concerned that a building or structure may be dangerous, you can contact the council at any time. In the interest of public safety building control officers are on call 24 hours a day, every day of the year, to give immediate attention to dangerous structures.
To notify us of a dangerous building please call us (details at bottom of page).
Where necessary the danger should be removed immediately and we will ensure that the work is carried out in the most suitable way. If we need to take this action in respect of your property we will make every effort to contact you first.
Removal of a danger can take many forms, from erecting barriers to demolition. What it does not include is re-building or replacement of like for like.
Please Note:
Our Out of Hours number is for true emergencies only where there is serious risk of harm being caused to you or other people; if an officer is unavailable you should call the emergency services on 999. For emergency repairs to Council property please see Emergency Repairs page.
