As well as deciding what can be built where and conserving the face of our area, the Planning Services Team are responsible for many other services.
Including;
Local Authority Searches: When you buy a home, your solicitor will make a search of Council records to make sure that there are no 'hidden surprises' or legal restrictions.
Telecomms Masts: We keep a register of all applications to build/site TeleCommunications Masts within the District.
Trees & Hedgerows: Information about Tree Preservation Orders and what to do if there is a high hedge nearby can be found in these pages.
Advertisements & Shop Signs: New advertisements, hoardings and shop signs may be subject to planning permission.

Disability Issues: Everyone who provides a service to the public, is responsible for making sure that as many people as possible can access this service.
Environmental Impact Assessment: An environmental impact assessment (EIA) identifies how a proposed development will affect the environment.
Liquor Licensing: Anyone applying for new or transfer Liquor Licence must consult the Planning section as part of the application process. Please address all Liquor Licence consultations to our Technical Assistant (details at bottom of page).
