Planning - Advertisements and Shop Signs
No advertisement, hoarding or shop sign may be displayed without consent granted by us or by the Secretary of State. In fact the unauthorised display of advertisements is a criminal offence subject to a maximum fine of £2,500 per advertisement.
It is important to ensure that any advertisements have the necessary permission or consent, before these are put up.
A booklet ‘Outdoor Advertisements and Signs, A Guide For Advertisers’ is available. Please contact us for a copy.
You can also contact our Planning Officers for advice. Please see their details below.
From April 2008 all applications submitted to this and all other Local Planning Authorities need to be completed using the new national planning application form known as 1APP.
