Strategic Flood Risk Assessment
North East Derbyshire District Council, together with partners Chesterfield Borough and Bolsover District Councils, has commissioned consultants Faber Maunsell to carry out a Strategic Flood Risk Assessment (SFRA) to cover the 3 authorities.
The study has been prepared in accordance with Government guidance (PPS:25 Development and Flood Risk) and examines all forms of flooding, including flooding from rivers and groundwater, land drainage, sewerage and other artificial forms of flooding, such as reservoirs and canals. It is a planning tool that enables the Council to select and develop sustainable site allocations away from vulnerable flood risk areas. This work was completed in March 2009.
