Water Cycle Study
The purpose of a Water Cycle Study is to identify tensions between growth proposals and environmental requirements in relation to water and identify potential solutions to addressing them. It examines water supply, sewage disposal and water abstraction.
The preparation of a Scoping/Initial Study has been carried out for North East Derbyshire and Bolsover Districts and Chesterfield Borough Councils. This has collected background information relating the general state of water infrastructure within the District and highlights where constraints are anticipated.
Once North East Derbyshire’s Preferred Strategy has been developed, further discussions will take place with the water authorities and the Environment Agency to decide if a more detailed study should be prepared.
