Sustainable Buildings SPD
The Sustainable Buildings Supplementary Planning Document provides guidance to developers and individuals on how to reduce energy consumption, be more sustainable and energy efficient in new building projects within North East Derbyshire. The SPD is a material consideration and should be given weight in considering development proposals.
The SPD includes guidance on the following:
- Adapting to climate change
- Sustainable building design and layout
- Sustainable construction materials and techniques
- Carbon emissions
- Waste minimisation
- Water and flooding
- Sustainable construction codes
- Sustainability statement and energy audit
- Historic environment
- Transport and travel
The SPD was adopted on the 28th November 2011. It forms part of the North East Derbyshire Local Development Framework. A copy can be downloaded below. Alternatively a copy can be purchased for £5.00.
