Consultation going on now - Sustainability Appraisal (incorporating Strategic Environmental Assessment) of the North East Derbyshire Local Development Documents – Scoping Report Update (Feb 2012)
It is very important that all planning policies that are developed consider the long term environmental, social and economic impacts of any potential development in the district.
Sustainability Appraisals are the tool for achieving this, and all documents in the Local Development Framework must be assessed by a Sustainability Appraisal (SA) incorporating Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA).
In 2007 the Council commissioned consultants to produce a Scoping Report as part of the Sustainability Appraisal for the Local Development Framework. A Sustainability Appraisal was carried out in 2009 for the Core Strategy Issues and Options stage. These documents form part of the evidence base and can be downloaded below.
The Scoping Report has now been updated by consultants Lepus Consulting to ensure that the SA process is robust and is informed by the latest baseline trends and policy framework affecting North East Derbyshire and can be downloaded below.
The Sustainability Appraisal Scoping Report Update (Feb 2012) document is now subject to consultation and can be downloaded below.
The consultation runs for 5 weeks from 9am, 15th February, 2012 until 5pm, 21st March, 2012
