Drinks Cartons
North East Derbyshire District Council has joined forces with Tetra Pak UK Ltd and the carton industry ACE UK (Alliance for Beverage Cartons and the Environment) to give residents the opportunity to recycle drinks cartons.
At present the cartons, which are made up of paper, polyethylene and aluminium foil, cannot be placed in your green bin. However special recycling banks have been placed at the following locations across the district:
Dronfield - Greendale Shopping Centre, Stonelow Road
Dronfield - Sports Centre car park, Farwater Lane
Eckington - Eckington Co-Op car park, Pinfold Street
Ashover - Ashover Village Hall car park, Milken Lane
Danesmoor - St Barnabas Centre, Pilsley Road
Please note: The drinks carton recycling bank which was located at Parkside Shopping Centre, Killamarsh was relocated to Eckington Co-Op on 5 January 2012.
The cartons can be turned in to a number of different products - ranging from plasterboard liner to high-strength paper bags and envelopes.
When using the banks, please flatten the cartons before posting in the bank.
Please do not use the carton banks for plastics or cereal boxes
More information about Tetra Pak recycling is available on Tetra Pak UK Ltd's website.
