Housing Options and Advice
If you need advice about staying in your home, we are here to help you.
There are many types of problem that could lead to you becoming homeless:
- financial problems
- mortgage difficulties
- problems paying your rent
- relationship breakdown
- domestic violence
- harassment from your landlord or illegal eviction
We can offer advice and support on a range of issues and help with:
- advice on benefits including housing benefits
- negotiating with private landlords to prevent the termination of your tenancy
- referrals to the Citizens Advice Bureau for detailed financial advice
- referral to a mediation service, when relationships between parents and children or partners breakdown
We can also point you towards services from other organisations and partners to try and help solve your problems before the threat of homelessness becomes urgent.

Homelessness
We'll do what we can to help prevent you becoming homeless, but sometimes it can still happen.
If you are become homeless, or are likely to be homeless within 28 days, we'll refer you to our colleagues at Rykneld Homes. They will deal with your homeless application based on your circumstances and your needs.
