Housing Options and Advice

If you need advice about staying in your home, we are here to help you.

There are many types of problem that could lead to you becoming homeless:

  • financial problems
  • mortgage difficulties
  • problems paying your rent
  • relationship breakdown
  • domestic violence
  • harassment from your landlord or illegal eviction

We can offer advice and support on a range of issues and help with:

  • advice on benefits including housing benefits
  • negotiating with private landlords to prevent the termination of your tenancy
  • referrals to the Citizens Advice Bureau for detailed financial advice
  • referral to a mediation service, when relationships between parents and children or partners breakdown

We can also point you towards services from other organisations and partners to try and help solve your problems before the threat of homelessness becomes urgent.

Browse through the information on the links on the left or contact our Housing Options team if you need help to stay in your home, or if you just need information. Details are at the bottom of this page.
