Housing Grants - assistance for homeowners and tenants

Grants are available for a variety of works to adapt, repair or improve your home to make it safe, warm and secure.

Decent Homes Grants - to help vulnerable people improve the quality of their home and pay for essential repairs.

Disabled Facilites Grants - to help adapt homes to meet the needs of people with disabilities.

Insulation Grants - a variety of schemes are available for grant assistance to improve the heating in your home and provide additional insulation.  These works are designed to make homes more energy efficient, protecting the environment and reducing fuel bills.

Empty Property Grants - to help bring long-term empty properties back into use.

Why offer assistance?

Poor quality housing can have an impact on the health of the occupants and quality of life in the area.

The main responsibility for maintenance of a property lies with the homeowner, though not everyone has the resources to keep their homes in good repair.  This applies particularly to the elderly and most vulnerable, who can be helped through the grant process by our Home Improvement Agency team.

Further details on all the types of assistance available are contained in our Decent Homes Assistance Policy, which is available to download below.
