Housing Needs Surveys
Housing Needs Surveys being carried out in the area
We have carried out a series of Housing Needs Surveys in partnership with Chesterfield Borough Council, Bassetlaw District Council and Bolsover District Council.
This research is being undertaken to build on the current information held by the Authorities and to identify specific housing needs and aspirations of people within these particular groups. The information collected will be used to developing an appropriate housing strategy and ensuring that the needs of people with chaotic lifestyles are accounted for during strategic planning.
Housing Needs Study of Older People
Older people are defined as those over the state pension eligibility age (currently 65 for men, 60 for women).

Housing for People with a Learning Disability
The Housing Strategy team has recently joined up with Derbyshire County Council Learning Disability Services to establish the housing needs of people living in North East Derbyshire with a learning disability.
The questionnaire aims to identify a number of specific needs and aspirations, not just in relation to housing. For example, many people with a learning disability find it hard to use public transport so we need to establish what these people would like to live near to, such as shops, sports facilities, cinemas etc. We also need to know what type of house is best and who they would like to share with. Once all the information has been gathered the information will be used to allow the Housing Strategy team to plan for future need.
