Strategic Housing Market Assessment
Strategic Housing Market Assessment
A group of 7 Local Authorities in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire (the Northern Sub-Region) have formed a housing market partnership to commission a Strategic Housing Market Assessment (SHMA) to give a detailed understanding of the local housing market.
Bassetlaw, Bolsover, Chesterfield and North East Derbyshire District Councils form the Northern Housing Market Area; whilst Ashfield, Mansfield and Newark and Sherwood District Councils form the Nottingham Outer Housing Market Area.
The Strategic Housing Market Assessment has been partly funded by the Regional Housing Planning Board and has been carried out by Fordham Research, a private company specialising in housing needs and market analysis. The SHMA will assist policy development, decision-making and resource allocation processes.
Strategic Housing Market Assessments should consider the characteristics of the housing market, how key factors work together, and the probable scale of change in future need and demand.
The SHMA consists of four documents:
- Strategic Housing Market Assessment Sub-Regional Report
Information on the whole Northern Sub-Region
- Northern Housing Market Area/Nottingham Outer Housing Market Area
Report tailored to each Housing Market Area
- Executive Summary for North East Derbyshire
- Technical Appendices
Contains details of the primary and secondary information used in the report
The Executive Summary report is attached below. If you require any of the other documents via email please contact the Housing Strategy and Enabling team.
