North Wingfield Bungalows
The new development of the 2 bedroom bungalows at North Wingfield was completed in December 2009, consisting of 33 eco-homes at Wayside Close and Eyam Close. The land was donated by the Council and the the construction was led by the housing and regeneration group LHA-ASRA .
The scheme being one of the first of it's kind nationally to meet level four of the government's rigorous Code for Sustainable Homes – featuring a renewable heating system, will run on low levels of water and feature storage place for recyclables.
LHA own and manage the bungalows and Rykneld Homes, on behalf of the District Council, let them under the ‘Choice based letting’ scheme.
26 of the bungalows are for affordable rent, let to people aged 55 and over nominated from those bidding through the council’s Choice Move system, one is a Learning Disabilities Unit and 6 were sold for shared ownership.
