The Authority operates a range of flexible working practices including job sharing, flexitime, and annualised hours. The Authority’s flexitime scheme allows employees to vary their starting and finishing times to suit personal needs, subject to the needs of the Authority. You could take up to an extra 12 days off work under this scheme.

Vacancies at the District Council are available as full-time, part-time, job share, casual and seasonal posts.  We also have a range of family and work-life balance initiatives.

We want to develop our employees' full potential on a continuing basis and, where possible, we will develop staff for future roles.  A range of learning and development opportunities are available, including  mentoring, shadowing, qualification training, team work, distance learning, workshops, special projects, secondments and short training courses either run by the District Council or externally.
