The arts in Chesterfield and North East Derbyshire
Chesterfield Action for Arts Forum (CAAF)
CAAF is a Derbyshire Action for Arts Forum which formed in September 2008 and works towards the building of an Arts Centre for Chesterfield and the surrounding area. CAAF is a fully constituted volunteer run action group of NEDCAF (North East Derbyshire and Chesterfield Arts Forum). Their vision is to create an attractive, vibrant and multi-purpose community arts and exhibition space. We are continually looking for support from the people of Chesterfield and the surrounding area.
Culture Vultures
Your directory of arts groups, clubs and societies
Culture Vultures is a directory of arts groups, clubs and societies in Chesterfield and North East Derbyshire with over 100 entries on everything from arts and crafts to film and photography by way of music, dance, and drama.
Culture Vultures has been put together by Arts Development officers for both Chesterfield Borough Council and North East Derbyshire District Council. The directory is available free in libraries and from the Tourist Information Office, Rykneld Square, (next to the ‘Crooked Spire’) Chesterfield S40 1SB. Culture Vultures is also available as a downloadable PDF document at the bottom of this page.

Creative Derbyshire
This is a two year (2011 – 2012) programme of support and training for artists and arts businesses, funded by the Derbyshire Arts Partnership and Arts Council England. The Creative Derbyshire programme will include:
- Roadshows to showcase the support offered to creative businesses in the county.
- Training events and workshops to stimulate creativity and productivity.
- Bursaries and mentoring.
- Apprenticeships and work placements for young people.
- Additions to the Arts Derbyshire website, with links to business support and case studies.
- Continuation of the artists’ marketing grants.
* Creative industries can be many things - advertising, antiques, architecture, crafts, design, designer fashion, film and video, interactive leisure software, internet publishing / trading, libraries and museums, music, performing arts, photography, print and packaging, publishing, research and consultancy, software and computer services, television and radio and visual arts…
Creative Greenhouse
The Creative Greenhouse offers a lot of infomation through its website: details of the latest news and events; funding and skills development opportunities; an online resource library with useful links and downloads and an opportunity to profile your company in the business directory and showcase feature. You can also sign up to a regular newsletter.
Greenhouse also offer localised networking events and workshops, designed to deal with issues and topics to help support you and your business.
