Team work grows through gardening!
A communal garden in Dronfield received a makeover thanks to the efforts of a group of young people in the town.
Rykneld Homes donated £500 from its Neighbourhood Improvement Initiative budget towards the scheme at the garden on Manor Road which is managed by Rykneld Homes.
The gardening scheme was a joint initiative between Rykneld Homes, the Police, Henry Fanshawe School and the local community to make improvements to the Manor Road area which has recently suffered from anti-social behaviour. See NEWS section for more information.
Clean up in Mickley
Almost eight-tonnes of waste – along with 72 televisions and 35 fridges and freezers – were collected as part of a special clean-up day.
Residents in Mickley were invited to have a clear out and leave all their unwanted waste out to be collected by North East Derbyshire District Council for free as part of the two-day event which was also funded by Rykneld Homes, the Community Safety Partnership and the Police.
People were also given information about home security as part of the initiative, which was part of a series of clean-up sessions which have been held across the district – designed to reduce anti-social behaviour and encourage people to look after their environment.
