Engineering Services
Our Engineering team deal with a wide variety of services across the district. Responsibility for some of the services they deliver is shared with Derbyshire County Council. Use the links below to find out more information, contact details are shown at the bottom of the page.
Dams and Fishing Ponds
The Engineering team carries out safety inspections and maintenance works on Council owned dams and fishing ponds. Contact us for more information or to report a problem.
Hard Standings
We carry out inspections and arrange for the installation of car hard standings on Council properties. Contact your local area housing office for further advice.
Land Drainage
We can advise you of the duties and responsibilities of a 'Riparian Owner' of a body of water or a water course. Contact us for more information and to find out what powers the Council has under the Land Drainage Act.
Sandbags
Contact us if you need sandbags to deal with emergency flooding, we have someone on call if an incident occurs outside office hours.
Snow Clearance and Gritting
Derbyshire County Council are responsible for gritting and clearing snow from public highways.
Temporary Road and Car Park Closures
If you want to hold an event that may involve the temporary closure of a road or car park, you must contact us for permission first. Please remember to give us 3 months notice of the event.
