Footpaths and Public Rights of Way
Derbyshire County Council maintain public footpaths and rights of way across Derbyshire and will deal with problems including obstructions, illegal signage and unauthorised usage. You can find out more on their website.

The Chesterfield Round Walk
The Chesterfield Round Walk explores the varied countryside just beyond the suburban fringes of Chesterfield. The Chesterfield Round Walk was officially launched on June 23rd 2005 with the publication of a leaflet describing the 34-mile route.

TPT - Trans Pennine Trail
The Trans Pennine Trail (TPT) is an exciting route for walkers, cyclists and horse riders that link the North and Irish seas, passing through the Pennines, alongside rivers and canals and through some of the most historic towns and cities in the North of England.
This is an exciting route for walkers, cyclists and horse riders that links Southport on the Irish Sea with Hornsea on the North Sea (207 miles, 331Km). A north-south route connects Leeds and Chesterfield, plus a spur to York take the total distance to approximately 555 km (345 miles). On the way the route passes through the hills of the Pennines, alongside rivers and canals, and through some of the best towns and cities in the North of England.
