Removing Graffiti
Graffiti is an offence and if you see somebody doing graffiti, you should report it to your local council or the police.
Graffiti is generally removed within 20 working days if it is on Council land or property. If the subject or content is grossly obscene then it can be removed within 24 hours.
Under the Anti-Social Behaviour Act 2003, Chapter 38, Part 6, Section 48 the owner of the surface is responsible for the removal of any graffiti. This authority may serve a graffiti removal notice upon any person responsible for the surface affected to be removed within 28 days.
