Reporting Potholes
A pothole is where the surface of the road has been eroded and a hollow has formed. Potholes can form quickly and are a hazard to the public highway. If they become large enough, damage to tires and vehicle suspensions can occur.
Potholes can also appear on pavements or footways.
Who is in charge of managing potholes within this district?
North East Derbyshire District Council is responsible for potholes on its footpaths, car parks and garage sites. Derbyshire County Council is responsibile for the maintenance of highways and pavements. This service also includes the repair of potholes.
