History, Heritage and Visitor Attractions

Stately homes, pretty villages, museums, beautiful countryside... whatever you want to do we have it all!

You can visit Renishaw Hall, famous for its stunning Italianate gardens or Troway Hall, Derbyshire's official Honey Trail, with bees enjoying a magnificent countryside of medieval meadows and hedgerows, or Sutton Scarsdale Hall, an imposing shell of a grandiose Georgian mansion built in 1724-29, with an immensely columned exterior.

Alternatvely, if outdoor activities are more your style, why not visit Ogston Reservoir sited at Woolley Moor, which covers 200 acres, and includes leisure facilities such as club sailing, wind surfing, trout fishing, and two observation hides for Ornithologists. Or you could take a stroll (or ramble), or cycle along the many trails we have in the District.
