Council to launch new Festival of Brass in 2020 Entries are now being invited for a new entertainment contest to be held in North East Derbyshire in 2020. The North East Derbyshire District Council Festival of Brass will be held at Tupton Hall School in Chesterfield on Sunday 21st June 2020. The contest will be split into two sections with generous prize funds on offer for the bands taking part. Each band will provide 20 minute entertainment sets for the crowds. Councillor Martin Thacker, Leader of the Council said, “This is a great opportunity for bands to showcase their talents in the District. We are passionate about providing events which enables the whole community to get together and listen to fantastic music and enjoy incredible performances by talented local and national bands”. The contest will see Section A open for Championship and First Section competitors, with Section B for contenders from the Second, Third and Fourth Sections.
The organisers hope it will offer bands the ideal opportunity to showcase their entertainment talents suitable for concert programmes and contests, whilst giving the audiences fantastic renditions of the highest quality.
The podium finishers in Section A will take home £600, £300 and £200 respectively, whilst those in Section B will win £300, £200 and £100.
