Leisure Centre COVID-19 information

Our three leisure centres in Dronfield, Eckington and Clay Cross are now fully re-open with new safety measures in place. View the fantastic feedback we have received since re-opening (.pdf | 400kb).

Things are different - social distancing measures are in place, hand sanitizing facilities available and safety is the number one priority for staff and members who are in attendance.

We have prepared some useful information below highlighting what to expect on your visit and a Leisure centres Covid-19 FAQ's page for enquiries.

We have new temporary timetables for classes and swimming, these are below for each centre:

Safety Measures

Badminton and Squash

We are doing things a little differently than before to ensure you are safe and our staff. Sessions must be pre-booked in advance by calling the venue or booking online. Please look at the safety information provided below to help you play safe and have fun. Government advice states: All forms of face coverings may restrict breathing efficiency and should not be used during exercise except on specific advice from physicians

Badminton information

Tiers 2 (High) and 3 (Very high) 

The Government has mandated the following restrictions for the playing of indoor sport in Tiers 2 and 3: 

Organised sport amongst adults (18 and over) is not permitted – the rule of six no longer applies in these areas. Therefore the following types of activity cannot take place: 

  • Club night/matches 
  • No Strings Badminton 
  • Any form of competition, including league matches 
  • Group coaching (more than one person) 

The following are permitted: 

  • Adults – household only playing on a court 
  • Juniors/disability activity – in line with our current guidance 
  • 1-1 coaching 

Squash information

Tiers 2 (High) and 3 (Very high)

Only the following is permitted

  • Single player can do solo practice
  • Players from the same household or support bubble can play the full squash game
  • One to one coaching with adults using socially distanced practices can take place
  • Players from educational teams or with disabilities
  • Juniors in a coach led/supervised activity

Players from different households CANNOT play any form of the game including @sides’ or socially distanced practices

Classes

  • All sessions need to be booked in advance either online, by calling reception or visiting the centre
  • Social distancing will be in place.
  • Numbers in classes will be limited
  • The instructor position to the class will be altered to maintain social distancing
  • Follow the instructions of the instructor

Gym

  • All sessions need to be booked in advance either online, by calling reception or visiting the centre
  • Social distancing will be in place and some equipment will not be in use
  • One way systems are in place
  • Gym towels are NOT allowed
  • Please clean the equipment after use with the cleaning materials provided on site
  • Wherever possible come activity ready to limit the amount of time you are in the changing rooms
  • Please wash your hands before and after your activity
  • Follow the instruction of the centre staff

Swimming

  • Swimming lessons return on 7 September 2020. We have written to all members, a swimming lessons return letter (.pdf | 570 kb) is available for you to view online.
  • All sessions need to be booked in advance either online, by calling reception or visiting the centre
  • Social distancing will be in place.
  • Pool space will be restricted, please follow the onsite instructions
  • Wherever possible come activity ready to limit the amount of time you are in the changing rooms
  • Hair dryers will be out of use.
  • Showers will be available for a quick rinse only
  • Follow the instruction of the lifeguard
