Calling all job seekers!

Job seekers, or those looking for a change of career, can find out about dozens of vacancies at three drop-in events taking place across North East Derbyshire.

North East Derbyshire District Council has teamed up with Jobcentre Plus to hold jobs fairs across the district.

The first one takes place on 12 May, from 10am-12noon, in the Bluebell Suite, Eckington Civic Centre, Market Street, Eckington.

Future jobs fairs are planned for Holmewood on 7 July and Dronfield on 29 September (venues to be confirmed), with more in the pipeline for 2023.

North East Derbyshire District Councillor Jeremy Kenyon, Cabinet member for Economy, said: “These events are a great opportunity for people looking for work to get help and support, or those already in work to find a new career.”

A spokesperson for DWP Jobcentre Plus said: “After the success of the last two recruitment events held in partnership with North East Derbyshire District Council, we are very excited to be running a third on Thursday 12th May at Eckington.

“This event will be a great opportunity to support the DWP’s Way to Work Programme and give North East Derbyshire residents the opportunity to speak to local employers and find sustainable employment, or explore training opportunities.”

The drop-in events are open to everyone, with no need to make an appointment, but job seekers registered with Jobcentre Plus can reserve their place by speaking with their work coach.

There will be lots of opportunities available on the day from a range of sectors including: clerical, hospitality, social care, manufacturing, logistics, transport and many more!

In addition there will be training opportunities and assistance with CV writing and applying for vacancies.
