Carol concert hits right note as charity event raises £592.07 for Ashgate Hospicecare

North East Derbyshire District Council Chairman, Cllr Martin Thacker secured another £592.07 for Ashgate Hospicecare as he hosted a wonderful evening of music at St John’s Church, Walton.

The concert featured music from Minerva Chorus; a flute and cello trio (Katy, Natalie and Jessica) and the readings from Paul Grinbergs.

The audience were invited to join in with traditional carols accompanied by organist Andrew Marples.

North East Derbyshire District Council Chairman, Councillor Martin Thacker said: “It was a splendid evening that ensured the magic of Christmas through festive music. The flute/cello trio provided a selection of emotive music; and Minerva Chorus sang a fantastic repertoire.”

“I am grateful to all those who supported the concert, which raised funds for a worthwhile charity.”
