North East Derbyshire District Council is supporting this year’s National Customer Service Week (4-8 October), with events for residents lasting the whole week!
Launched by the Institute of Customer Service, National Customer Service Week is a week-long opportunity to raise awareness of customer service and the vital role it plays in successful business practice and the growth of the UK economy.
To celebrate the week and highlight some of the services available to our residents, the following events will take place at our main council offices on Mill Lane, Wingerworth:
Sign Solutions Deaf Interpreting Service
Monday 4 October, 11am to 3pm
Sign Solutions Deaf Interpreting Service will be on hand to talk to deaf and hearing residents alike to explain about their services and give demonstrations if required on how easy it is to contact the council via the website links or via face-to-face to access the council’s services.
Recycling Promoters
Tuesday 5 October, 9am to 12noon
Come and speak to our Recycling Promoters, learn about how to recycle, what to recycle and what happens to the recycling after collection - and any other related questions around recycling you would like answered.
Working Communities / National Careers Service
Tuesday 5 October, 1 to 5pm
If you require help with searching for a job, preparing your CV, filling in job applications, interview techniques, job searching, looking at transferable skills, or finding out about courses that are available at the Adult Education Centre.
Anti-Social Behaviour Team
Wednesday 6 October, 10am to 12noon
Our Anti-Social Behaviour Team will be on hand to help you keep your home safe and secure.
Citizens Advice Bureau
Thursday 7 October, 1pm to 4pm
Free, independent, confidential and impartial advice on a wide variety of issues. Come and see what the CAB can offer you.
Environmental Health Home Improvement
Friday 8 October, 1 pm to 4 pm
Talk to our Environmental Health Home Improvement Coordinator about energy bills, energy efficiency, damp and mould, renewable energy, grants, disabled adaptations, home care and partner service organisations.
Cllr Mark Foster, Cabinet member for Council Services, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for residents to come along to talk to council officers and find out more about the services we have to offer.
“From supporting our deaf community, to help with recycling, getting a job, or making your home more secure, there is something to interest everyone during the week.”
