A local charity has been given £300 after a group of anglers from Clay Cross Angling Association, donated from their charity angling matches.
The Angling Club held seven matches throughout 2019 at Wingerworth Lido and the Wallpond in order to raise funds in association with Marshalls Electrical for the charity. Dave Coupe was the aggregate winner from the seven competitions.
The money raised has been donated to North East Derbyshire District Council’s Chair’s charity ‘Sheffield Children’s Hospital PACT (Parents Association of Children with Tumours and Leukaemia)’. PACT is run by parents themselves and is passionate about being there for other parents and children who also face the same challenges of cancer and leukaemia.
North East Derbyshire District Council’s Vice-Chair, Councillor Pat Antcliff said, “We are very grateful to the Angling club for organising these events to raise money for the Chair’s chosen charity – Sheffield Children’s Hospital PACT. Thank you to all involved, and especially to those who donated, as this money will go a long way to help those in desperate need.”
The association has been holding charity matches for more than 20 years and have always donated money to the Council Chair’s Appeal.
