North East Derbyshire District Council are launching their #CheckTwice campaign to help combat rising vehicle thefts and break-ins across Derbyshire as opportunist thieves strike when owners leave their cars unlocked and not putting valuables out of sight.
The campaign aims to encourage car owners to #CheckTwice by checking they have locked their cars, or not left any valuables out on show to minimise the risk of an incident.
A reminder to residents and car owners;
- Always check you’ve locked your car before leaving it unattended.
- Double check your dashboard or car seats that nothing valuable is on show.
- Keep valuables with you, or if unable to, lock out of site in the boot of your car.
North East Derbyshire District Council will be using the #CheckTwice across its social media platforms to help raise awareness over the coming weeks, so keep an eye out!
