Council Chairman bowled over by the success of charity cricket match

North East Derbyshire District Council XI took on Chesterfield XI in a charity cricket match on a balmy summers evening, raising an incredible £1100 for Ashgate Hospicecare.

Queen's Park, Chesterfield was the ideal setting for the match in aid of the Chairman of North East Derbyshire's Appeal for Ashgate Hospicecare. 

Teams from Chesterfield Cricket Club and NEDDC XI took to the field in a T20 match where spectators were treated to displays of brilliant bowling, bodacious batting and fabulous fielding. 

Chesterfield XI may have emerged as winners but the event was all in a good cause.  An amazing £1,100 was realised for the local Hospice. 

North East Derbyshire District Council Chairman, Councillor Martin Thacker said: "I am so proud of NEDDC and Rykneld staff who played their part in the success of the cricket match.”
