North East Derbyshire District Council has pledged to support some of the most vulnerable people in its district by launching a new strategy designed to improve their lives.
The strategy has been developed over the last year and demonstrates the Council’s commitment to improving our residents’ lives and the opportunities available to them. It is intended to be a ‘living’ document which will be reviewed annually to ensure it continues to reflect our local area.
The strategy document sets out the Council’s vision for the next three years in how it will assist older people to help make the greatest positive impact on their lives, in partnership with other Derbyshire wide organisations and communities.
Portfolio Holder for Housing, Communities and Communications, Councillor Alan Powell, said, “We recognise the important role older people play in our communities and we are keen to ensure that north east Derbyshire is a district where older people can live, work and visit with the confidence that they can access the opportunities, activities and high quality services required to independently maintain a good quality of life.”
